The Winnipeg Police Service has closed off Southbound Lagimodiere Boulevard at Marion Street after a man was hit by a vehicle.

The incident happened near the corner of Lagimodiere Boulevard and Maginot Street around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police said a male pedestrian was rushed to hospital in critical condition after getting hit by a vehicle.

In a release sent to media around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday investigators said the driver has met with police.

Police say the road is expected to be closed for several hours for the investigation.
