Peterborough police say the body of a man was found in Jackson Park late Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the park off of Fairbairn Street in the city’s north end.
Peterborough Police Service officers could be seen in a marshy area of a pond in the park just off the trail.
In an update around 3:30 p.m., police said officers responded around 10:45 a.m. to reports of a man with vital signs absent near a pond near the entrance to the park at Fairbairn Street and Parkhill Road.
“The coroner is now investigating and the area has been reopened,” police said.
