2 teens killed, 2 others injured in crash west of Calgary

A devastating crash west of Calgary has claimed the lives of two teenage girls and left two more in the hospital. Jill Croteau reports. – Jul 15, 2021

Two teenage girls are dead and two others remain in hospital after an early morning crash just west of Calgary.

Cochrane RCMP said the single-vehicle collision happened on Range Road 32 between Township Road 251A and Township Road 250 at around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday. The area is located just east of the Springbank Airport, north of Highway 1.

Emergency crews found two teenage girls dead at the scene.

Paramedics took two others to the Foothills Medical Centre in critical, life-threatening condition.

Family confirm to Global News Daniela Nicoletti, 16 is one of the deceased while her sister, 17-year-old Giulia Nicoletti remains in hospital.

All four of the girls were students at Springbank Community High School.

“It is too early to tell what factors may have contributed to this collision,” Cpl. Troy Savinkoff of the Cochrane RCMP said in a news release. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families, friends, schools and communities that are affected.”
