Canada election results: Chilliwack–Hope

Conservative Mark has been re-elected in Chilliwack-Hope in the 2021 federal election, Global News projects.

With 155 of 213 polls reporting at 9:45 p.m., Strahl held 44.2 per cent of the vote, compared to 28.4 per cent for New Democrat DJ Pohl.

Liberal Kelly Velonis trailed in third.

Strahl was first elected in 2011, and has held the seat since then.

Prior to that, his father Chuck Strahl served the community as a Member of Parliament for the Reform Party, the Alliance and the Conservatives from 1993 to 2011.

Two years ago, the younger Strahl won the riding with almost 50 per cent of the vote.

The riding is in B.C.’s Fraser Valley. The riding encompasses a portion of the valley, and the municipalities of Hope and Chilliwack. It borders on the United States.
