Liberal Party candidate Chandra Arya is projected to win re-election in the riding of Nepean.
The Nepean riding spans most of the former city of Nepean, Ont., including Barrhaven and Bells Corners.
The western border follows Eagleson Road with the south end at Brophy Drive and Bankfield Road. The eastern border follows the Rideau River and the northern end follows the CN rail and Highway 417.
The riding was recreated just prior to the election in 2015 from the former Nepean—Carleton riding. It had previously existed between 1988-1997 but was dissolved and split into Nepean—Carleton and Ottawa West—Nepean.
Arya was re-elected to Nepean for a second term in 2019. Arya beat Conservative candidate Brian St. Louis by 8,613 votes.
This riding is home to 119,110 residents and 87,394 registered voters. This riding has an immigrant population of 27 per cent, with Arabic, Cantonese and Mandarin being the most popular non-official languages, according to the 2016 census.
