Pedestrian dies from collision involving semi-truck in Regina’s east end: police

Regina police say the pedestrian involved in a collision with a semi-truck at the intersection of Prince of Wales Drive and Victoria Avenue on May 31 has died. Dave Parsons / Global News

The pedestrian, a 68-year-old woman, involved in a collision with a semi-truck driver in Regina’s east end has died, according to police.

It happened at the Prince of Wales Drive and Victoria Avenue intersection sometime before 10:45 a.m. on May 31.

The pedestrian was crossing Victoria Avenue from the south side of the road, heading to the north side when she was hit, police say.

EMS and other emergency responders also attended the scene. The woman was taken to hospital.

Drivers were being told by police to avoid the area. The intersection was closed off to traffic, but reopened at about 2:30 p.m. that day.

Police are still investigating and are asking anyone with information to call its department at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
