Bloc Québécois candidate Stéphane Bergeron is the projected winner in the riding of Montarville.
The riding, which was created in 2015, consists of the cities of Saint-Basile-le-Grand, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and Sainte-Julie.
In the 2016 census, 88 per cent of the population in this riding listed French as their mother tongue. Immigrants make up roughly eight per cent of the riding, with large groups hailing from France and Haiti.
Stéphane Bergeron of the Bloc Québécois pulled off an upset when he beat Liberal incumbent Michel Picard for the seat in 2019. The NDP and Conservative candidates came in third and fourth place.
