Cape Breton police say a man suspected of shooting two people is in custody following a manhunt on Saturday.
The police force said the man, Raymond Shawn Daniel Leroy, was spotted on an ATV trail and arrested without incident in the Membertou area.
Earlier on Saturday, officers asked residents of Cape Breton’s Northside communities to stay inside their residences while the search was underway.

The victims, who were shot in North Sydney and Florence, are in hospital, police said. The male victim is being treated for what police said were serious injuries, while the female is in stable condition.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
