TORONTO — Canadian singer The Weeknd is kicking off a fall tour in Vancouver on Sept. 6 in support of his new album Kiss Land.

The 23-year-old Toronto native will play the Orpheum Theatre Sept. 6 and 7 and wrap up the 22-city tour with three nights at Toronto’s historic Massey Hall (Oct. 17, 19 and 20).

No other Canadian cities are included in the tour.

The Weeknd, who was born Abel Tesfaye, released a nine-track mixtape in 2011 that earned critical acclaim and a nomination for the Polaris Music Prize. He collaborated with Toronto rapper Drake, embarked on a U.S. tour and performed at several European music festivals.

The Weeknd announced via Twitter that Kiss Land will be released later this summer.
