Rainfall warnings and thunderstorm watches in Southern Alberta

CALGARY – Grab your umbrella and put on your galoshes- much of Southern Alberta is under a rainfall warning.

Environment Canada issued the warnings early Wednesday morning.

They warn heavy rainfall is in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.

The heaviest rainfall is expected Wednesday night with 50 to 70 mm in some locations. Total amounts of 100 mm are likely by Thursday evening.

However, Environment Canada is warning that some areas of the foothills could see 150 mm by the time the system weakens on Thursday night.

Communities included in the rainfall warning include:

Calgary

Airdrie

Cochrane
