Calgary police say the death of a woman found in an intersection in Bowness early Monday morning was domestic in nature.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of 34 Avenue and 79 Street N.W. just after 6 a.m. after getting a report of a woman lying unconscious in the road.
The woman, who was in her 30s, was taken to hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries, where she later died.
A man has been arrested in relation to the death, which investigators are calling “suspicious.”

Police believe the victim knew the suspect and the incident wasn’t random.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Jeremy Loewen, who discovered the woman, said she was face down in the road when he came across her. Loewen said he called 911 but she wasn’t breathing.
The intersection was closed as police conducted their investigation.
