Calgary police investigate Wednesday morning shooting in Evergreen

Calgary police said a person has been arrested in relation to an early morning shooting in the community of Evergreen on Wednesday.

Officers were called to the Fish Creek Pointe apartment complex in the 2500 block of Fish Creek Boulevard at 2:30 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

Investigators found one man at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to the Calgary Police Service (CPS), a second shooting victim was found a short distance away in a vehicle that was confirmed to be stolen, parked outside of a 7-Eleven on Fish Creek Boulevard and Everridge Drive Southwest.

A witness told Global News one man entered the convenience store asking for help, saying his friend had been shot.

EMS said the two shooting victims were transported to the Foothills Medical Centre — one in critical, life-threatening condition and the other in serious but stable, non-life-threatening condition.

Police said a third suspect, whom they allege was the driver of the stolen vehicle, was suffering from an unspecified medical condition. EMS confirmed the 18-year-old was taken to the Rockyview General Hospital in stable, non-life-threating condition.

Police said the man arrested was a suspect, but there was no word on any charges being laid as of 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Calgary police said the victims are not cooperating with investigators.
