Three brothers charged in relation to gang sexual assault

TORONTO – Three brothers have been charged in connection with an alleged gang sexual assault.

Nazeef Ahmadzai, 30, Hewad Ahmadzai, 26, and Omeed Ahmadzai, 24, all face forcible confinement and gang sexual assault charges.

Police allege that on Saturday a 22-year-old woman was out with friends at a nightclub near Richmond Street West and Spadina Avenue when she was approached by a 26-year-old man.

A man followed her when she left, police say, and along with two other men, offered her a ride home – which she accepted.

But instead the men led her to an underground parking lot where police allege they confined her in an SUV and two of them sexually assaulted the woman.

Omeed and Nazeef each face an additional charge of sexual assault.

The woman’s friends were concerned for the victim’s safety and called police. The three men were located and arrested a short time after the alleged incident, police say.

The three men appeared in court on Sunday.

Police say there could be other victims.
