RCMP identify Moncton homicide victim, looking for witnesses to altercation

RCMP have released the name of a Moncton homicide victim in hopes that the public has more information on what happened.

Karl Cadden Wearden, 45, was found lying on the road on Echo Drive at around 1:15 a.m. on Monday.

Police say he was injured, and died at the scene.

Witnesses have told police that they saw Wearden standing beside a bicycle on Echo Drive before he got into an altercation with another man. The other man was seen running away, heading west.

Anyone with information, or who may have seen the incident, is asked to call the Major Crime Unit at 506-857-2400.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
