Four people are in custody after London police say a jewelry store in the city’s west end was robbed on Tuesday.
It happened around 6:25 p.m. at Gordons Gold Jewelers at 760 Hyde Park Rd. when police allege two men wearing masks arrived in a vehicle, entered the store, and directed staff to get on the floor.
Police allege the suspects smashed the display cases with a sledgehammer, took jewelry, and escaped in a waiting car.
Officers arrived quickly, police said, and followed a vehicle to Oneida First Nation and an address along River Road.
“With the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, Oneida Nation of the Thames Police Department and Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service, four men were arrested,” police said in a statement.
No further details have released, including information on charges.
