‘Stranger Things’ Season 3 trailer: School’s out, welcome to summer of 1985
Stranger Things is back with the first official trailer for Season 3, which returns to Netflix on July 4.
The beginning of the trailer shows Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) returning home from camp to find his electronic toys moving on their own.
Dustin grabs a can of hair spray and follows the toys to his living room while Mötley Crüe’s Home Sweet Home plays in the background.
Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) was secretly making the toys move to the living room with her powers, which caused her nose to bleed.
Dustin’s friends appear behind him with a “Welcome Home” banner and noisemakers but the surprise scares Dustin and he turns around and sprays Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) in the eyes with hairspray.
Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), and Max (Sadie Sink) were also with Lucas and Eleven to surprise Dustin with the welcome home party.
The rest of the two-minute, 47-second trailer follows everything else going on in Hawkins, Indiana while The Who’s Baba O’Riley plays in the background.
The full cast of kids returns with Lucas’ younger sister Erica becoming part of the cast in a recurring role.
Returning to round out the teenage cast is Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers and Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, with daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, Maya Hawke joining as “alternative girl” Robin.
Winona Ryder and David Harbour reprise their roles as Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper.
Fans of the Netflix series took to Twitter to discuss the trailer for Season 3.
The sci-fi show had already released a teaser trailer, with a commercial for a new mall in Hawkins, Ind., called Starcourt Mall.
