Pothole season has arrived one day before spring.

The City of Winnipeg says crews are out and about patching up potholes, “addressing frozen catch basins, culverts, and inlets, addressing isolated slippery conditions on streets as required, and producing sandbags for possible river and overland flooding.”

City crews are focusing their pothole patching efforts on main and collector streets, especially bus routes. They are in all areas of Winnipeg, the City added.

“Very large or deep potholes that pose an imminent safety concern to traffic are forwarded directly to field crews for inspection and immediate attention.”

Anyone wanting to report a pothole or a frozen catch basin can do so by calling 311 or using the City of Winnipeg’s 311 app.

Flood efforts

As for flood efforts, the City is waiting on the latest detailed flood outlook from the Province, which should come shortly, they said, but noted flood preparations have been happening for “several weeks.”
