Durham Regional Police say a 30-year-old man has been charged in connection with a December shooting in Oshawa.
Police said officers were called at around 5 a.m. on Dec. 10 to a home on Toronto Avenue near Ritson Road South and Highway 401 with reports a 50-year-old man was shot.
Investigators said the victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At the time, police said officers searched the area for a man who reportedly shot at the victim. However, the suspect wasn’t found.
On Friday, officers said they received information the accused was inside of an Ajax house. As soon as the man left the home, police said he was arrested and a handgun was found.
Thirty-year-old Ajax resident Stafford Wynter was being charged with aggravated assault, pointing a firearm and various drug-related offences.
