A struggle ensued, at which point witnesses came to the driver’s aid and the suspect fled on a bicycle, according to police.

Police said the man opened the driver’s side door and began assaulting the father. The driver lost control of the vehicle which backed into a parked tow truck, then shot forward when it got bumped into “drive.”

Police said the Civic struck three other cars, drove over a garden bed and tree and then stopped when it hit a retaining wall.

Another group of witnesses came to the driver’s aid and restrained the suspect. The father and daughter were taken to hospital with what police believe are minor injuries.
