In celebration of the 91st Annual Academy Awards, Elton John hosted his 27th Oscars viewing party on Sunday night in West Hollywood.
John, 71, invited Welsh actor Taron Egerton, onstage for a duet performance of the 1971 smash-hit, Tiny Dancer.
Egerton, 29, has been cast as the Bennie and the Jets singer in the upcoming biopic, Rocketman — set to hit the big in North America on May 31.
The actor’s “stunning” performance — according to many fans — has begun to spark excitement for his role in the long-awaited film.

The high-profile event has taken place following the Oscars ceremony every year since 1993. John hosts the party in partnership with the AIDS Foundation.
During its annual auction, John introduced Egerton to the stage, who showcased an exclusive trip to the London premiere of Rocketman.
After playing the film’s trailer, Egerton reportedly suggested a last-minute performance of Tiny Dancer.
John returned to the stage and took a seat at his piano. Egerton sang the entire song, with John backing him up on the unforgettable chorus.

Much to many fans’ disbelief, Egerton performed every single song featured in the movie, including: Your Song, Tiny Dancer and Bennie and the Jets.
Both the hype from the trailer and performance resulted in widespread Oscar buzz for 2020; with many expecting Egerton to take home the award for ‘Best Actor.’
Rocketman was directed by Dexter Fletcher. He previously directed Egerton as the lead role for Eddie the Eagle — the 2016 biopic about professional Olympic ski-jumper, Michael Edwards.
Fletcher, 53, is best known for taking over as director for the four-time Oscar winning Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), which became a huge success.
He joined the project in late 2017, after director Bryan Singer was fired from the project. Singer, 53, reportedly clashed with the cast and crew throughout its production.

Rocketman hits theatres across North America on May 31.
The movie stars Richard Madden as John’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as John’s mother, Sheila Farebrother.
