It’ll be a busy weekend in Guelph.
There are plenty of activities and events planned in the Royal City for the Family Day long weekend.
Here are just a few of the things going on around the city throughout the weekend.
Guelph Storm in action
The Guelph Storm will play a pair of home games beginning on Friday night when they host their Hwy. 7 rivals, the Kitchener Rangers.
That night, the Storm are hosting their fourth annual “PEVS Protects Night” and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a special t-shirt in an effort to raise awareness and funds for AED purchases and CPR training.
The Storm will be back on Sleeman Centre ice on Monday afternoon when they host the Flint Firebirds.
Larry Mellott will have the call for both games live on 1460 CJOY.
Crokicurl at Sunny Acres Park
Is there anything more Canadian than mixing crokinole with curling to create crokicurl?

The Guelph Curling Club is hosting a double knockout tournament on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sunny Acres Park on Edinburgh Road.
The cost to play is $40 a team and all money raised will go the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.

City of Guelph’s Family Day Fun
The city is hosting a full day of events on Monday at the Victoria Road Recreation Centre and the West End Community Centre.
There will be games, public skates and swims, pickleball, futsol, boccia and pottery classes.

Salvation Arm’s Family Skate
The Sally Ann is hosting a free family skate at the University of Guelph’s Gryphon’s Centre (red rink) on Monday at 9 a.m.
All ages are welcome.
Family Day at the Museum
The Guelph Civic Museum will be open on Family Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be lots of DIY family fun, according to the museum’s website.
Admission is by donation.
Art Gallery of Guelph
The AGG has planned family-friendly activities on Monday between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
KnightsFest
The Guelph Youth Music Centre on Cardigan Street is going medieval on Monday with KnightsFest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The free event includes displays, costumers, games, activities and entertainment for the whole family.
There will also be medieval weapons and armour, musicians and jugglers.
Pancake Breakfast
The Trinity United Church on Stevenson Street is hosting a free pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday.
It is sponsored by the Royal City Lions Club.
Guelph Farmers Market
The Guelph Farmers Market will be open Saturday from 7 a.m. until noon in downtown Guelph.
