Driver in critical condition after vehicle struck rail-safety barrier: Middlesex OPP

Middlesex OPP say a driver is in critical condition in hospital after a single-vehicle collision on Dundonald Road between Century Drive and Falconbridge Drive in Southwest Middlesex.

According to police, a vehicle on Dundonald Road struck the rail-safety barrier system, which was not activated, just after 8 p.m. on Sunday. Police stress that no train was crossing at the time.

The driver, who was the only one in the vehicle, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

Dundonald Road is closed between Century Drive and Falconbridge Drive as police investigate, and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
