A man from Scarborough has been charged after police seized drugs, a firearm and cash during a traffic stop in Bracebridge.
According to Bracebridge OPP, on Thursday at around 5 p.m., officers stopped a car they say was driving considerably faster than the speed limit on Highway 11 North.
Police say further investigation revealed the driver was wanted in Toronto and Essex County on outstanding warrants.
Officers say during the arrest, a firearm, drugs and several thousand dollars in cash were seized.
According to police, 24-year-old Levon Byers from Scarborough was charged with a number of drug- and weapon-related charges.
Police say Byers is scheduled to appear in court in Bracebridge on Friday for a bail hearing.
