York Regional Police have released security footage of a suspect wanted in connection with an arson investigation in Vaughan.
Police said they responded to a call of a suspicious fire shortly before 2 a.m. on Jan. 7 at a law office in a commercial plaza on Rutherford Road near Highway 400.
After the fire was extinguished, investigators discovered the glass front door was smashed along with a strong smell of gasoline inside.
Surveillance video from the incident appears to show a suspect wearing an orange coat and a black hoodie getting out of the passenger seat of a white Mercedes.
The footage goes on to show the suspect grabbing multiple gasoline cans from the vehicle’s trunk before smashing the glass door and setting the interior on fire.
Police said the vehicle’s licence plate was found to have been stolen from Toronto. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
