Ontario Provincial Police stop suspicious van in high-risk takedown on QEW

Provincial police have arrested the driver of a suspicious van on the QEW in Burlington.

Officers conducted a high-risk takedown around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning near Appleby Line, after several people called to report seeing the van with the word ‘KILL’ spray-painted in large white letters on the back window.

The driver was also reported to be wearing a balaclava while behind the wheel.

Police say he was taken into custody without incident and is being held for a mental health assessment.
