Peel police charge 31-year-old man for allegedly posing as minor, sexually assaulting a youth

TORONTO – Police say they have charged a 31-year-old man with a series of sex-related offences after he allegedly posed as a 17-year-old boy in online conversations with a teenage girl.

Peel Regional Police say the man from Brampton, Ont., began online conversations with a 14-year-old girl using social media in October.

They allege he met the girl at a residence in January where he sexually assaulted her.

Police arrested the man on Jan. 13 and say he faces charges that include sexual assault, sexual interference and harassing communications.

Investigators say the man utilized the online profile names West6North and Gobiii, and are asking anyone who had contact with him to speak with police.
