The Humane Society London & Middlesex is appealing to the community for funds to help care for an influx of dogs and puppies.
“We recently accepted a surrender of 30 dogs that came from the same home,” Steve Ryall, executive director of Humane Society London & Middlesex, told 980 CFPL.
The dogs include a nursing mother with six puppies and a dog with a pronounced heart murmur.
An active investigation is now underway into the matter, Ryall said.
He noted that the shelter is appealing to the community to make financial contributions so they can take care of the animals.
“As a non-profit charitable organization that receives no direct government funding, we cannot provide second chances for over 2,000 animals each year, without the generosity of our donors.”
The shelter says the additional expenses include veterinary care, food, cleaning, and grooming.

Ryall says once veterinarians give clearance and the animals are properly socialized the dogs will be put up for adoption. He says updates will be provided on the shelter’s Facebook page.
