Another big defensive performance from Winnipeg Blue Bombers linebacker Adam Bighill is being recognized by the Canadian Football League.

Bighill was named a Week 9 Top Performer after he recorded seven tackles, one of those for a loss, along with a sack, forced fumble and fumble recovery in a 29-23 Bombers win over Hamilton.

This isn’t the first time the league has noticed Bighill’s work as he picked up the same honour following a Week 4 win against his former team, the B.C. Lions, where he had two interceptions and returned one of them for a touchdown.

Bighill was asked on 680 CJOB following the Hamilton game if he thought his latest effort was his best with the Blue and Gold.

“I don’t quite know what the stats were, but scoring a touchdown and having two picks in a game isn’t bad either,” he said.

His 49 tackles lead the league and he is the first defensive player to be named a Top Performer twice this season.

Bighill and the Bombers are back in action Friday night at home against the Ottawa Redblacks at 7:30 p.m.
