We’ve all had teachers who made lasting impressions.
Educators often end up being our mentors, references and often, those who make a significant change in our lives.
In 2013, TED wrote a piece on U.S. teachers who had changed people’s outlook on life. Some who were humorous, strict and even those who just got their students to love reading.
“Mrs. Bailey was my English teacher. I loved her. I was the younger sister of an already very successful big sister, and that was a cloud over my head too. She held my hand and brought me into the sun with her love of the English language. She recommended books just to me, she made me feel special and I just couldn’t get enough of her,” said TED staffer Juliet Blake.
For a new back to school feature on Global News, we’re asking Canadians to share stories of their favourite teachers. Maybe they taught you an unforgettable lesson, maybe they opened up doors for your career or maybe they became a part of your family.
If you have a teacher you want us to feature, please fill out the form below or email Arti Patel, National Online Journalist, Smart Living.
Note: We may use your response in this or other stories. While we may contact you to follow up, we won’t publish your contact information.
