Winnipeg Police arrest bouncer after triple stabbing outside club

Winnipeg Police have their man after three victims were stabbed early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the 100-block of Princess Street at 3:41 a.m., where they found three men suffering stab wounds.

Const. Jay Murray said the club’s bouncer turned himself in at police headquarters just before 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

An investigation by the Major Crimes Unit found Citizen Nightclub and Mazaj, the lounge next door, had been rented for a private party at the time of the attack.

One of the victims got into an argument with the bouncer, but he agreed to leave and was escorted out.

When the victim got outside, the bouncer began stabbing him. The two other victims were wounded as they tried to intervene.

One man was brought to hospital in critical condition, and the others in unstable and stable condition respectively.

All victims have since been upgraded, with two remaining in hospital — both in stable condition.

Cezleik Nigel Wright, 37, faces three counts of aggravated assault and one charge for possession of a weapon.

He remains in custody.
