Police say a woman was outside shoveling snow in the area of Victoria Avenue and Evans Street at around 11 a.m. on Saturday when a male suspect on a bike rode by, raised his fist and hit the victim on the nose with a sharp object.

Police say the weapon in that incident was a box cutter.

Police are investigating the incident in connection with a similar one on Sunday evening when a 53-year-old woman was hit in the head from behind with a sharp object while she was walking in the area of Cannon and Wentworth streets.

The suspect is described as 6-foot-3 with a slender build, about 200 pounds, clean-shaven with a prominent nose and wearing a dark brown jacket with a fur hood.
