A student residence at McMaster University has been evacuated because of a suspicious package. McMaster University

Whidden Hall at McMaster University has reopened after a suspicious package prompted an evacuation and response by Hamilton Police and fire crews late this morning.

The package had a handwritten label indicating potential hazardous materials.

It’s been determined the package found on the third floor was a harmless and improperly discarded jar.
