March has come in like a lion for New Brunswick — and it’s about to get worse for the northern half of the province.
Heavy snow in the early hours of Thursday made for a messy and dangerous commute in Fredericton, N.B.
Multiple collisions, fender-benders and crashes were reported throughout the city with even more being observed by early afternoon.

According to Global News chief meteorologist Anthony Farnell, the heavy wet snow is set to continue across most of New Brunswick on Thursday before eventually turning into rain near the Bay of Fundy region.
“Snow will taper to flurries or rain showers across the rest of the province early on Friday,” Farnell said.
Fredericton could see a total of 10-15 centimetres and up to five centimetres for Moncton before the storm ends.

The areas set to be hit the worst are across the northeastern parts of the province. Farnell says areas could see 25 centimetres of snow.
Environment Canada has also issued a snowfall warning for all of northern New Brunswick.
However, there is some good news for the rest of the week.
“Thankfully the next winter storm will stay south of New Brunswick but winds will remain gusty through the weekend,” said Farnell.
