Police said the pedestrian, a man, was crossing the street when he was struck by a driver heading eastbound.
They said it appears the driver was not at-fault and the pedestrian was trying to beat oncoming traffic on his way across the street.
The man was listed in stable condition and remains in hospital.
The road was closed for almost an hour.
