Delta police say a hold and secure order at Seaquam Secondary School was put in place after a woman was groped on school grounds Monday.
The victim, an adult woman, was walking on the school’s track around 10:15 a.m. when she was groped from behind by a male suspect, according to a Delta Police media release.
The man fled, and the woman suffered a minor injury, police said.
As a precaution to protect students at the school, a “code yellow” was put in place.
According to the Delta School District’s emergency preparedness manual, a code yellow is most commonly used when there is an incident taking place outside the building on or off school property, and there is no immediate or active threat.

A code yellow allows classes to continue as normal, but cancels or delays outdoor activities and locks out any unauthorized personnel.

Police describe the suspect as male with a medium build, and wearing a dark hoodie and possibly dark pants.
