A piano that was placed in a pedway connected to the Health Sciences LRT Station for people to play and enjoy was destroyed.

In a message on Twitter Friday morning, Edmonton nurse Kathy Reid shared a photo of the damage, calling the incident “heartbreaking.”
She flagged the mayor and said she hoped what happened was caught on camera.

University of Alberta security reported the damaged piano to Edmonton Transit at about 3 a.m.
The city is looking into the incident but couldn’t confirm who owns the property where the piano is — the city or the university, since the pedway is not technically Edmonton Transit property.
The city is also trying to confirm the owner of the piano.

The piano was found on the west side of the pedway that connects the Stollery Children’s Hospital to the LRT station.
