Guelph man arrested on sexual assault charges in Grey Highlands incident

A 49-year-old Guelph man has been arrested and is facing sexual assault charges following an incident that occurred in Grey Highlands.

The alleged incident is said to have taken place on Oct. 25, but police were not made aware of the situation until more than a week later, on Nov. 3.

It’s alleged that the 49-year-old Guelph native Darryl North sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl, leading to his arrest on Friday.

North was held for a bail hearing the following day and is scheduled to appear before a provincial court in Owen Sound on Nov. 30.
