A 2005 clip from animated comedy Family Guy has resurfaced in light of sexual harassment allegations against A-list actor Kevin Spacey.

The allegations were made by fellow actor Anthony Rapp (Star Trek: Discovery), who claimed that Spacey attempted to climb on top of him in a sexual way. This occurred, according to Rapp, when he was only 14 years old and Spacey was 26.

In a Twitter response, Spacey said he could no longer remember the events described by Rapp (“It was 30 years ago”) and said he was drunk at the time. He then concluded his response by coming out as a gay man, something rumoured in Hollywood for years.

Seth MacFarlane‘s Family Guy seemed to know about Spacey’s sexual orientation well before these allegations came to light. In the clip below, the show also seems to be making a joke — featuring a naked Stewie running through a mall — about Spacey’s sexual proclivities.

Weirdly, MacFarlane referenced another Hollywood scandal at the 2013 Oscar nominations ceremony. He outwardly joked about women having to “pretend” to be attracted to disgraced executive producer Harvey Weinstein. (You can watch the joke in the video, below.)

“Congratulations,” quipped MacFarlane to the crowd. “You five ladies no longer have to pretend you’re attracted to Harvey Weinstein.” Cue the laughs from the attending audience.

If Spacey’s sexual orientation was another Hollywood “open secret,” what of these new allegations against him? Was there an awareness of the situation if jokes were being made about it more than 10 years ago?

MacFarlane has not commented on the 2005 scene since Rapp’s allegations against Spacey emerged.
