The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be without receiver Darvin Adams for several weeks due to an upper-body injury.
Adams was hurt during the Bombers’ win over the BC Lions on Saturday. The American currently leads the team with 1,120 receiving yards and seven touchdowns off 76 catches.

“It was tough to see him go down last week,” Bombers quarterback Matt Nichols said.
“You can feel his presence gone immediately when you’re out there on the field.”
The injury isn’t related to the broken collarbone Adams suffered last season. It’s possible he could heal in time to suit up in a late playoff game.
“I don’t ever want to count him out,” Bombers head coach Mike O’Shea said. “I know he’s going to work hard and given his past history, he’s always become available earlier than expected.”

Adams was hurt on the same day defensive back Maurice Leggett tore an achilles tendon. The injuries mean Winnipeg will be without two of its most dominant players down the final stretch of the season.
“Those two guys have made a lot of plays for us,” O’Shea said.
“They’re top notch guys. Guys you like to have around and see in the locker room everyday.”
Luckily for the Bombers, help is on its way. Weston Dressler will return to the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Toronto Argonauts. The receiver missed the last three weeks with an upper-body injury.
