Melfort RCMP bust marijuana grow-op

Two men and a woman are facing charges after Melfort RCMP busted what they called a small marijuana grow-op.

The bust started when officers pulled over a vehicle on Sunday and took Jesse Guest, who is from Melfort, into custody for driving with a suspended license.

Police then searched him and said they found several individual bags of meth and marijuana.

A passenger in the vehicle, Brandon Fulmes, who is from Pleasantdale, was also arrested.

Guest, 23, and Fulmes, 35, are charged with possession of meth for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking meth, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Fulmes is also charged with cocaine possession.

Both appeared Wednesday in Melfort provincial court.

Police said a search of Fulmes’ residence was then carried out, where 12 marijuana plants were seized.

Carol Fulmes, 57, is charged with production of a controlled substances.

She has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Melfort provincial court on Nov. 14.

Melfort RCMP said they continue to investigate.

Pleasantdale is approximately 205 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
