House fire in Saskatoon called suspicious

An early morning house fire in Saskatoon is being called suspicious by the Saskatoon Fire Department.

Crews received a 911 call just after 3:30 a.m. CT Wednesday stating smoke was coming from a home in the area of 17th Street West and Avenue H South.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the roof and eaves of a single-storey house at 535 Ave. H South.

An aggressive interior attack was started and the house was searched.

No one was found inside.

The fire was brought under control nearly an hour after the call came in.

No injuries have been reported.

Damage is estimated at $250,000.

Saskatoon police are assisting with the investigation.
