RCMP responded to reports of shots fired in Surrey’s Cloverdale neighbourhood on Thanksgiving morning.
Officers responded to the 17200 block of 65th Avenue, where an occupied vehicle had been targeted by gunfire shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday.
A neighbour in the area said the shots rang out closer to 10:30.
The vehicle and a nearby home were hit with bullets, but no one was injured. Bullet holes could be seen in the rear of the home, and the back window of the vehicle was smashed.
The suspect vehicle, a dark-coloured Chevrolet sedan — possibly a Malibu — was seen fleeing the scene shortly afterwards, heading east on 64th Avenue.
The investigation is still in its early stages and no further details are being released at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Surrey RCMP immediately.
