Now one of his friends is planning a memorial ride in his honour.

“I’m organizing this event because diesel trucks and Harleys were his favourite thing to drive and I know him looking down on us, this is exactly what he would have wanted,” said friend Jeremy Smith in an email interview.

“I met Jordan about 10 years ago up at Missezula Lake in Princeton where our families have both had cabins for many years. We would always ride dirt bikes in the summer, [play] pond hockey and [ride] snowmobiles in the winter.”

Smith remembers his friend fondly.

“He was one of the happiest, go-lucky kind of guy. His humour and his laugh alone could light up a whole room. Always making jokes. He would put everyone before himself, it was just the kind of person he was.”

The Jordy Mac Memorial Cruise will start at 10 a.m. at the Colossus Theatre in Langley. It will then make its way through the Lower Mainland, past Mission and around Harrison Lake.

Anyone can take part in the event. Go to the Jordy Mac Memorial Cruise Facebook page and sign up. Smith says he has some window stickers for everyone.
