A 17-year-old boy is in police custody after Halifax District RCMP say they responded to a complaint of a robbery and an assault that had taken place in a taxi in Shearwater, N.S.
The Mounties say they receive the complaint shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

It’s alleged that a male passenger in the taxi threatened the driver while attempting to rob him.
RCMP and Military Police searched the surrounding area after they arrived and located the 17-year-old who was arrested without incident.

The man, who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice act, is set to appear in court later today where he is facing charges of robbery, uttering threats, breach of probation and obtain transport by fraud.
According to police, the taxi driver was not injured.
