West Kelowna Fire Rescue received multiple calls of visible smoke and flame in the Glenrosa area around 12:30 Monday afternoon.
Upon arrival to Gates Road, crews found four cars engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading to the grass and threatening nearby forests.
A total of six cars were burned in the blaze before the fire was brought under control.
Two initial attack crews from BC Wildfire were called in to help.
An aerial assessment by helicopter determined bucketing was not necessary.
A fire inspector determined the blaze is suspicious and the investigation has been handed off to RCMP.
The fire came within about 300 metres of nearby homes.
