A cyclist has died after being struck by a school bus at the intersection of des Pins and du Parc avenues, according to police.
Montreal Police said officers responded to the incident after receiving a 911 call at 3:40 p.m. on Thursday.
The woman was unconscious when paramedics arrived, Steve Kouloumentas of Urgence-santé said. He said paramedics stabilized her condition once they arrived at the scene.
The cyclist was sent to hospital in critical condition.
According to firsthand witness accounts gathered by police, the school bus was making a righthand turn on to du Parc Avenue when the cyclist was hit by the bus. Police said the cyclist was riding with her husband but he did not get hit.
The victim’s husband and the 60-year-old bus driver were sent to hospital and were treated for shock, police said.
According to Urgence-santé, the school bus was not carrying any passengers.

The police said its collision unit is now investigating the incident.
