Portion of 22nd Street East being closed overnight for resurfacing

A portion of 22nd Street East will be closed overnight for the next three nights for resurfacing. File / Global News

Detours will be in place starting Wednesday evening as Saskatoon road crews resurface 22nd Street East.

City officials said the paving is being done between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. CT over a three-night period to minimize the impact on drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

Paving will take place between 3rd Avenue and 5th Avenue, and this section of 22nd Street will be closed to all traffic.

Only the intersection at 4th Avenue will be impacted by the resurfacing.

22nd Street will reopen to traffic during the day.

Officials are reminding drivers to obey all no parking signs and for everyone to respect the work zones, detours, signs and barriers.

The intersection of 22nd Street West and Avenue H will also be closed Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. for resurfacing. Work is expected to take one day barring unforeseen circumstances.
