2 charged after firearms complaint in North Battleford, Sask.

Two men are facing numerous charges after a firearms complaint in North Battleford, Sask., over the weekend.

North Battleford RCMP were called to a home in the 2000-block of 101st Street on Saturday morning.

An unknown number of people were believed to be inside the home.

Just before 1 p.m. CT, two men were taken into custody by police and a search of the home turned up a long barreled firearm.

Darby Johnson, 18, and Marty Moccasin, 23, are each facing eight charges including pointing a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a weapon while prohibited.

The two North Battleford men were scheduled to appear in court Monday morning on the charges.

RCMP officials said there was no immediate threat to the public as the situation was contained and no injuries were reported.
