Two men are facing charges after they confronted Mounties and threatened to drive their vehicles into the local detachment — all to gain access to a prisoner the RCMP had arrested.
Queens District RCMP responded to a complaint shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday and arrested a 46-year-old man.
As they were attempting to leave, police say officers were confronted by two men who tried to get into their police cruiser and displayed threatening behaviour towards the arrested man.

When the Mounties arrived back at their detachment in Liverpool, N.S., they were once again confronted by two men.
Police say the suspects threatened violence towards the man in police custody as well as the police and threatened to drive a vehicle into the detachment in order to get to the 46-year-old.
Both men eventually left the detachment and were later arrested without incident.

Kris Kelly, 49, and David Troy Oickle, 45, are now facing numerous charges. Both appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court on Monday.
Kelly has been charged with:
- Obstruction of justice
- Causing a disturbance
- Attempted break and enter
- Two counts of uttering threats
- Two counts of breach of probation
Oickle has been charged with:
- Obstruction of justice
- Causing a disturbance
- Two counts of uttering threats
