Great news for families looking for a way to cool off this Victoria Day long weekend.
Starting Saturday, May 20 the city of London’s free outdoor spray pads will officially open for the 2017 season. The 14 spray pad locations, which feature interactive water play areas, will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“You can pop in, they’re free of charge, there’s no standing water, there’s no staff involved, so people can just come at their leisure and enjoy the facility,” said Lisa Brandie, supervisor of aquatic services with the city of London.
A new spray pad at Constitution Park in northeast London is scheduled to open in early July. The park will also feature a new fully accessible field house.
The cooling misters at the North London Athletic Fields and Springbank Gardens are also up and running. Officials say the cooling misters are a great way for park users, runners and cyclists to cool off while enjoying London’s parks and trails.
The spray pads will close for the season on Sept. 4.
